Hard Work Pays Off
Wow! I checked the Spanish grade today and it is a B-. I am pretty happy about that because we worked hard to get make up work done and turned in. The funny thing is he had lower grades in two other classes (not by too much). The reason for the lower grades? Missing Assignments. Ugh!!!! I dread September.

Good People
I went to Walmart last weekend. I wanted to buy a bike so I could ride. I decided that I would buy a cheap one and just have a great time riding by myself and with Austin. So-I found one that was less than $100--it's pink of course. Then, I realized I had a CAR--and there was no way to get the bike home in the car. So-I found a carrier for the car and bought that. I took both out to the car, unboxed the carrier, found the very poor instructions and started to figure it out. 20 minutes later I was still trying to figure it out. (It must be like rocket science--and we all know I ain't no rocket scientist!)
About the time I was kicking myself and calling names to no one in particular (okay they were really in my head) a man approached and asked if I needed help. Scary! But of course I didn't think scary then, I just said, "YES!" I was pleased that I didn't shout out that I needed my daddy and start crying. Anyway-this guy, perhaps my age, looked at the instructions and couldn't figure it out either! That's when we both decided to get smart and look at the picture on the box. Although I like to think we shared equally in figuring it out, I do have to admit that he did figure it out before I did.
I offered to pay him and you know what he said? "I'm a truck driver and when I get up in the morning I just ask God to direct me where he needs me to be. This must be what he had in mind today."
I didn't ask his name, but I've got to say that there really is something to letting God direct your life. I hope that sometimes I can listen and be where He wants me to be at the right time.
Mr. Truck Driver: Thank-you for the lesson.
